Emma & Matthew: November 5th, 2010

About this time last year, I met Emma at a very important time of my life.  I was so excited to to hear about her engagement a few months ago.  She then asked me to photograph her wedding with another friend, Jonathan, and I couldn’t say no!  Every time I see her, she just puts a huge a smile on my face!  It has been a really great few months hanging out with these two.  Emma looked absolutely beautiful and was full of so much joy!  We started the bridal party portraits down at Occidental Park in Pioneer Square.  What a fun place for photos!!  Then we separated from the party and took Emma and Matthew to the Seattle Central Library (which was quite an adventure!), and then found graffiti walls over in SoDo by Jonathan’s work that he knows about.  It was a legal public wall that people paint on and it changes pretty much daily.  I LOVE graffiti walls!  They are so cool….I need to go explore more of those in the future.  We then finally headed over to West Seattle when it started raining a little bit.  It got chilly so quick!  The ceremony and reception was held at Alki Bathhouse.  Emma’s mom, Tina, home cooked all the food that night!   Everything was so delicious and beautiful; she had worked so hard that day.  I had such an amazing time hanging out with the girls all day preparing for Emma’s big day.  Thanks so much Emma and Matthew for sharing your wedding day with me!  :)

Justin - Beautiful work Karen!

Maryam - KAREN! SO BEAUTIFUL. I almost teared up all over again.

Kristin Boyett - Love, love, LOVE. This is beautiful work, Karen! The photos in the library are stunning.

Stephanie G - OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmyygoodness Wang you’ve done it again. These are enCHANTing!! My word, quite possibly my favorite picts you’ve ever taken! All of the colors just POP. I LOVE: the red shoes in the tree, picts by all those colorful doors (GORG!), the RED room (where in the world even is that), the YELL-escalator, refreshments, etc. She looks radiant, saucy, and sTUNNING — and a good photographer captured that. +100 points for you! I love graffiti wall too. My friend had some awesome pictures by one in Portland one time… leotard/tutu/pointe shoes, yet punky by graffiti, it was awesome. Love it/you Wangpie!

Gina M. Corona - Those are the BEST wedding pictures I have ever seen. If and when my day comes, you bet I am going to hire Karen K. Wang! To Emma and Matt, that was such a beautiful day! Thank you for having me, it was a joy to be a part of your SPECIAL day!!! LOVE YOU!!!

Dahnya - What a fun couple! I wish I had her style…

PS: the pictures with the colored doors complex: too cool.
