This is Danielle and Justin!! I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know these two the last year, and I have grown to adore them so much. They are super fun to hang out with and just make me laugh a ton. I feel like I am always learning from these two, no matter what the subject is haha. Danielle is always so sweet, encouraging and wise. And Justin is always filled with so much information, support and a social butterfly. We started out their session over at the park in Queen Anne where Justin proposed to Danielle!! We also took her mystery shoot photos here. :) So precious. It was really, really cold, so we ended up in Ballard to find some indoor places. Warmed our bones at Miro Tea and then just walked around Ballard a little bit as it got a little warmer. I always have so much fun with them, and I feel like we can probably talk forever and ever haha. I love you two so much and am SO excited to be party of your wedding day!!

Jared & Paige

Wow! These two have such a great story and even how I ended up shooting their engagements. :) Jared and Paige are from Austin, TX. Jared lives in Seattle right now, and they are getting married this June in Austin. They asked me to take their photos on a weekend that Paige was visiting Seattle. I had met Jared first and just KNEW I was going to love Paige just as much when she came up! They are both so, so precious. It’s that Texan thing I tell ya. We took these over at Discovery Park….possibly the best park for photos. We actually split the session in two because we ended up hiking down to the lighthouse on our last day. It was a pretty crazy trip down and back…but TOTALLY worth it! We were also super luck for this weekend because it was just so “warm” and sunny, and the sunsets were gorgeous all weekend. Jared and Paige love the northwest and totally appreciate all the mountains and water. :) I’m so excited for Paige to move up to Seattle after they get married this summer! We’re all going to have a ton of fun together. :D

The Best Gift Ever

Last night, I was surprised with a very, very special gift. Rachel and Holls had organized to collect notes from people who were part of my mystery shoots last year as a thank you. They had this planned for about a month, and I had absolutely no idea this was coming. The timing was perfect. I won’t go into too much in detail here, but those who participated are so special, and their words of love and encouragement mean the world to me. I love these people very, very much and they know how much joy and strength they have filled me with that night. Overwhelmed.

Many of you most likely know Mike and Jenny. They got married last summer, and this past month–they finally moved into a new apartment on the lake! I’m pretty sure the new place suits them very, very well. Beautiful place with many large windows letting in natural light with a back porch overlooking the lake. This place is seriously breathtaking. Also, I think these photos show their personalities very well. :) I am also posting this on Jenny’s birthday as a gift to her!! They left for Portugal yesterday for a month or so and will be very missed. Hopefully they arrive with these photos in their inbox. Happy birthday my precious Jennifer–you are growing up so fast, I cannot believe it. :((((((((”””””

Will & His Beard

So this is a very interesting shoot with Will. You can find his photo/video work here. As most of us know, Will has been growing this epic ginger beard over the winter, and I really wanted to have a shoot with it. It’s just so full and lush…quite amazing actually. So we walked around the hill the other day in the light rain and snapped a few photos. These are also different because they aren’t my usual “happy-laughing-fun” photos…these are more straight on, stoic and serious haha. :)

Lindsey and Miguel got married about a week before Christmas at the Hollywood Schoolhouse in Woodinville, WA. I met up with the girls over at Redmond at Lindsey’s parents’ house. Got to see Anne again from her shoot with her sisters! We all then met up at the Schoolhouse to have the first look there. It was pretty chilly, but was somewhat bearable for being December. The wedding party was super fun and did an awesome job! We then moved onto the Willows Lodge just down the street to finish up photos. Got to warm up a little inside and just hang out a little before the ceremony. I just love the way Lindsey and Miguel looks at each other…they are so precious. They do this thing where they stare into each other’s eyes and then just burst out in laughs, haha. Those two are so fun to photograph, and I had the very most honor to be part of their wedding day! The ceremony was beautiful, and I got to see many familiar faces. They even made me a little name tag for my table. :) So sweet. I had such a fun, fun time meeting all of your friends and family and even got to dance a little. The dancing, I must say, was bomb. Thank you both again for being absolutely wonderful to me, enjoy!!

So I totally forgot to blog these, but I had a fun and silly little shoot with my two dearest besties (Jims and Dolores) who share close date of births and ended up have a conjoined birthday party a few weeks ago. Went to my most favorite turquoise wall along Shilshole…just love the colors, as always. These two are actually seven years apart and turned a combined age of 47. WHOOOO.

Snow Day, For Real This Time

So since my last snow blog….it actually snowed a ton on Wednesday and today. Super cold outside….but I really wanted to take some real snow pictures. Didn’t get far except around our block because my camera kept getting wet, but found pretty little leaves and plants that were covered in snow. Today was starting to ice over, so that was interesting. All I can say is that I’m done with this snow and am ready for it all to melt away so that I can get back to real life. Being trapped is not fun.

Snow Day

Today there wasn’t much snow left, so it was just a little wet with ice, but I really wanted to go outside and take photos. This doesn’t compare to last year’s snow, but it was fun! Stephy actually walked all the way to Fremont from Greenlake to come play with us in the snow! We walked around even though it was so windy/freezing and took some silly photos in front of houses we liked hhahaa. Thank you, Autumn‘s hair for being so red and Stephy’s for being so blonde. :)

P.S. I will hopefully be making more leisure photo blog posts in the future as I forget sometimes how fun they are….and now I am able to!

A Snowy Drive to Portland, OR

Yesterday, we took a very short road trip down to Portland to cover the launch of Mars Hill Portland. We left Seattle at 6 a.m. and I drove the first way there. I must say…as magical as these winter wonderland roads may look…..I almost had a heart attack behind the wheel. Growing up in Texas, I have absolutely no knowledge of driving in the snow, but luckily I had Holls to guide the sleigh back with me. What a crazy adventure that I never want to do ever again (the driving in snow part). But when we finally made it to the church and got to hear so many of God’s stories from the people in Portland…it was indescribable. Jesus was filling the hearts of Portland with desires to serve and love Him, the church and the people in the city–it was absolutely amazing to witness. The Lord has some really cool things planned for this city–I can just feel it. 4 hours of sleep, 6 hours driving, 5 hours not driving, and 11 hours gone from home just to make it back in time to serve our loving God in our own city of Seattle.
