Karen & James | June 18th, 2011

Wow!!  What an eventful day this was!  Karen and James have been SO amazing to me and have been a joy to work with these past few months!!  I must warn you…there are many, many mash up photos in this blog–trying to choose my favorites to all post in small formats.  We first started the day off at 8am meeting Karen’s family at her apartment in Wallingford.  This wedding was particularly special because they had the traditional Chinese wedding with the tea ceremony in the morning and then another one for the guests in the evening.  Her apartment was decorated SO beautiful, and we did the door games in the apartment hallway because it started pouring during the first part of the day.  The games included push-ups, lipstick, wasabi, and a choreography number to finish it off.  What a super fun bunch of folks!!  I don’t think I have laughed so much on a wedding day before.  After the tea ceremony at Karen’s, we headed off to another one at James’ house in Bellevue.  It was so great to meet both sides of the family, and everyone was so kind and loving to me that I can’t even explain!  I also got to talk to some of them in Mandarin, so that’s always fun.  :)  They had a giant feast at James’ house after the tea ceremony, and we got to all take a break before the second part of the day!  After our little break, I met up with the girls at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue to hang out with them for a little bit while they got ready.  The rain started to wear off a little bit, so that was exciting.  We then headed up to Woodinville where the ceremony and reception at Novelty Hill.  What a super cool venue!!  It was a winery that was a modern style with a really neat outdoors area, so we had a lot of neat options for photos.  Since it was raining pretty hard in the morning, the ceremony was already moved indoors.  Such a beautiful place with all the decorations.  After the ceremony and a little bit into the reception, they had the Molly Moon’s ice cream truck drive by and serve ice cream to the guests!!  I can’t believe I’ve never had Molly Moon’s before, but this was actually my very first time trying it haha.  Such a fun night ending it off with toasts and much dancing.  I had such an incredible time meeting everyone and spending the whole day with the bridal party and family–I even ran into some familiar faces!  Thank you, Karen and James, for sharing your wedding with me.  It was such a beautiful and fun-filled day.  You two are amazing, and I am so blessed to have gotten know you two in these past months.  Thank you both SO much again for everything.  :)  Enjoy!
