Last Summer Through A Holga

I was looking through some of my past Holga scans and came through a few of my favorites from last summer.  One of my old friends whom at the time was attending the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA had mailed me my first Holga 120S when I was 16.  I’m pretty sure I have loved the Holga since.  With many trials and errors, you finally get to know your plastic friend.  Though discontinued, I love the 120S because the entire lens is made of plastic but somehow takes such crisp pictures consistently.  I also own the 120GN with a glass lens, but just somehow doesn’t produce the same results.  Last summer, I had just moved into the new city and just found myself exploring all the time carrying around these toy cameras.  It makes me a bit nostalgic, but now I just can’t seem to find myself spending money on film which can be really expensive especially with processing and printing.  My favorite 120 films are the PORTRA 160VC and EKTAR 100.  The occasional Velvia 100 slide film is fun as well to be cross processed.  Pretty much just like digital, I like my super saturated and colorful film  :)  Maybe I’ll pull out my holga soon….once I can find where I put them.
