Week 23 | Gnomie

Sooooooo, with this blog post….you might either think I’m totally weird, funny, creepy, or cool.  This is my very special Travelocity Roaming Gnome, named Gnomie.  In no way am I saying all my friends are comparable to an object, but Gnomie is one cool dude.  One of my best friends from Texas mailed me the actual gnome to my apartment in college for my 22nd birthday–it was seriously one of the coolest gifts EVER!!!  Mainly because I was so fascinated with those commercials where he would be sailing by in a boat on the ocean haha, and then I would start taking pictures of Gnomie at different places I went.  But then I realized he was too fragile to take everywhere, so I stopped.  Also, taking pictures of objects doing human things is also nothing new to me.  For people that know me the most will think this is totally hilarious…but if you don’t–I apologize if this weirds you out.  But let’s go on with this shoot….Gnomie was SO fun to shoot.  The lighting was just perfect, and he would do just about whatever I told him.  I’d throw him in a bush, and he would look so good laying there.  I especially like the ones of him creeping through some garden.  My favorite thing about this shoot was all the different gardens and houses I brought him to….since there’s so many neat flowers, bushes, and grass growing everywhere now–I was able to get Gnomie in different textures.  He was one of the easiest things to shoot!!  My only problem was that he kept making the same face.  Another cool thing about this shoot was that these were taken all in my new neighborhood of Fremont!  I am finally off the hill, PTL.  I’m pretty sure our neighbors think I’m crazy for putting him on their doorsteps and gardens…but it’s okay, I’m Asian.
