Alrighty! This is probably one of the most diverse mystery shoot locations I’ve had so far! Haha, from woods to water to the fair. :) Holly is one amazing lady I’ve had the joy to get to know this past year. I met her right around this time last year at my very first blog meeting. We immediately bonded at the fact that we both have had much journalism experience in our backgrounds; something about people who have worked in the press industry….just get each other. Since then, we’ve gone on many blog adventures and shoots together–and I might have to say, we make a great team!! We finally waited until late summer to do Holls’ shoot because we thought it’d be best to have it in Kitsap County where she grew up. :) So the Linquist’s, Holls, and I took the Bainbridge ferry and made our way through Poulsbo, Silverdale and to our final destination at Seabeck on the Hood Canal. WOW!! What a beautiful and amazing place. She showed us a little place where we ended up hiking a little ways down to see this most spectacular view of the Olympic Mountains. The water was SO clear and colorful…and the mts. were RIGHT THERE!! I unfortunately totally forgot my polarizer, so Jennifer kindly enough let me borrow her’s, and we got some quite lovely pictures of Holly at one of her favorite spots. :) I do have to say there was much screaming, mushy swamps and mudslides during our little hike, haha. After that, we had a delicious late lunch at Barbie’s Seabeck Bay Cafe. Our day wasn’t even over yet, as we headed back over to Bremerton for the Kitsap County Fair (which is why we were waiting specifically for this weekend). SUPER fun as it turns out I am too scared for rides… o_O This day was filled with so many of Holly’s childhood stories and memories, and it was so cool that we were able to see all the things she knew and loved so much. Thank you, Holls, for always having so much energy and love for the people around you. I always enjoy hearing your many stories and your passion for sharing stories about God’s grace in people’s lives through our many media channels. Your continuous hard work is a huge encouragement to me; it just makes me fall back in love with journalism all over again–but this time, for the glory of God. Thank you for showing us so many special places that day!!! We all love you lots. :)
P.S. I forgot to mention my fondest memory with Holls is when we went slip n sliding down a hill at Gas Works in the rain last summer. The best.
